Our Story
About ECHO
Who we are, why we exist, and the values that guide everything we do.
Our Mission
ECHO — the Exploitation and Cold Case Help Organization — is a Florida-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit task force dedicated to amplifying the voices of exploitation survivors and cold case families.
We provide victim-centered services, civilian investigative support, community education, and collaborative partnerships with law enforcement and social service agencies — all grounded in compassion, credibility, and a deep respect for the dignity of every person we serve.
ECHO is not a law enforcement agency. Our Articles of Incorporation specifically distinguish our work from law enforcement and limit our activities to lawful civilian investigative support. This distinction is intentional: we exist to complement and support the system, not to replace it.
Compassion
Every person who comes to ECHO is treated with dignity, empathy, and respect — regardless of their circumstances.
Credibility
We operate with transparency, accountability, and the highest ethical standards in everything we do.
Collaboration
We work alongside law enforcement, social services, and community partners — never in opposition to them.
Community
We are rooted in Florida and committed to the communities we serve, with a focus on education and prevention.
IRS-Recognized 501(c)(3) Public Charity
ECHO has received its IRS determination letter confirming tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. ECHO is a public charity — not a private foundation. Qualifying contributions are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
